Mojo Nixon mysteriously arose to national prominence in the late 1980's when his loud mouthed brand of rabble rousing acoustic rockabilly found a strangely receptive home on MTV. Starting his unlikely chart attack with a washboard toting sidekick named Skid Roper, after a couple albums he left the duo format to pursue a solo career.
