Nica Brooke hails from California and has worked with such noted artists as RIthma, Jon Cates (Cates&dpL), Aaron Sontag, Funktrain, Da Sunlounge, Ollie Brooke and RyRalio DJ's (their collaboration "Sultry Blue" topped the Lithuanian national pop charts for eight straight weeks in the summer of 2006, and the followup "Dance Outloud" hit the number one spot in Lithuania in Dec. 2007 and appeared on RyRalio Cafe Vol. 2 in 2008). Nica is a restless musical soul and cites influences as diverse as Aretha, Ray Charles, Fiona Apple, The Beatles, Jamie Lidell, Stevie Wonder, Jill Scott and Radiohead. She applies her own brand of bluesy jazz stylings to everything from standards and folk to deep house, drum and bass and beyond.

To mention Nica's voice you need the words "power", "soul", "skill" and "enthusiasm", in addition to the usual worthless adjectives. It is perhaps much wiser to hear Nica Brooke than to hear of Nica Brooke. She can be found on her own self-published release "New Tricks, Final Master" as well as the RyRalio Cafe (1 and 2) sets from Lithuania's RyRalio DJs, and Rithma's "Sex Sells" album. . Nica is currently working on her second solo album with noted jazz producer Don Mizell, and continues to contribute her stellar vocals to winning dance projects, look for Funktrain feat. Nica Brooke: "Sweetly" and Ollie Brooke Feat. Nica Brooke (Ollie is no relation to Nica, BTW): "Fireflies" on traxsource.com and beatport.com. In October of 2009, Lukas Greenberg released his second album on Plastic City titled Prisoner With a Key and featuring contributions from Nica Brooke. The partnership will continue to Lukas's third album (forthcoming in later 2011).
