American Men has been played on NTS shows including Kutmah Presents: Sketchbook Radio, with Ccccool World first played on 14 March 2012.

American Men is Claude Speed, Scottt Chevrolet, Alilloyd and John Awesome. They specialize in Miami Lazer Rock and sound like a city of neon and vice. Except when they do improv drone sets, when they sound "a bit like Tangerine Dream".

American Men supposedly got their name by randomly selecting two pairs of numbers and looking up the corresponding page/word in a copy of Thomas Pynchon's Gravity's Rainbow.
