There are at least two artist named Dj Hollywood

1) One of the earliest MCs on the scene, DJ Hollywood originated the practice of delivering extensive rhymes over recorded music, the essence of hip-hop. Yet because of his location (Manhattan), the types of records that he spun (disco), and the crowd he played to (downtown hustler types), DJ Hollywood remains an underrated figure in the development of hip-hop (a term that he originally coined).

Forming his own singing group at the age of 14, by 1971 Hollywood had moved on to DJing in Harlem clubs such as the Charles Gallery. As the disco movement began growing momentum, DJ Hollywood implemented record mixing, a technique he learned from a club owner, to isolate the funkiest or most danceable parts of the records. This gained him a wide following and, by the mid-'70s, Hollywood's performances at the Apollo Theatre influenced many younger artists such as Kurtis Blow and the Fatback Band. Reigning as one of the top DJs until the mid-'80s, DJ Hollywood faded out of the rap world for a time while fighting drug addiction. He returned in the early '90s to work with Lovebug Starski, performing shows in the New York and New Jersey areas (Allmusic.com).

Like rain in the desert DJ Hollywood has become a very valuable resource. Since arriving to Las Vegas, Hollywood has become the most sought after DJ ever to hit the strip and one of the hottest in the nation. DJ Hollywood has been a resident at RA, Drais’, Drink, and Rain at the Palms just to name a few and is currently the Program Director for the award winning Pure Management Group. It features hotspots such as Tangerine, Coyote Ugly, and the #1 rated hotspot in the nation, Pure Nightclub. Hollywood is the producer and programmer of Hollywood Blvd. a radio show making it’s home on the Billboard award winning 98.5 KLUC. The show has aired for an astounding six years and has been number one for all of them.

Very few DJ’s receive the kind of accolades that Hollywood has received. In 2003 and 2004 Hollywood received four major awards. First the Las Vegas Weekly crowned him DJ of the year two years running. He also snached both DJ of the Year and resident DJ of the year at the annual Las Vegas Vesper Awards and was named one of the hottest entertainers of the Year. His amazing blend of professionalism, outstanding mixing skills, dance floor control, unmatched versatility, and a commanding hosting presence have gained him critical acclaim.
