Ira demonstrates how to do extra soulful with a masterclass in vibes. It's easy when you know how.
Very much leaning into the Pôle catalog, a few Aussie post-punk bits of weirdness, two tracks and way too much of Hijokaidan's forays into pop music.

Byla consists of Kevin Hufnagel (Relapse Records' instrumentalists Dysrhythmia, Gorguts) and Colin Marston (Dysrhythmia, Epicene/Troubleman recording artists Behold… the Arctopus, Crucial Blast Records experimental duo Infidel?/Castro!, Profound Lore black metal band Krallice, and Gorguts).
Though their respective bands are more known for technical and abrasive music, Byla focuses on creating dream-like, rich atmospherics. Using guitar as it's primary sound source, Byla takes the listener from epic sound walls to late night, half-asleep drones.
In 2005 they released their first self-titled CD on Translation Loss Records, a mainly quiet and tranquil experience. Released in the Fall of '07 was the album 'Viscera', a collaboration of sonic massiveness and density between Byla and vocalist Jarboe (formerly of Swans, and acclaimed solo artist). This album still retains the ambient aesthetic but with a much more intense atmosphere.
