SHAPE+, previously known as SHAPE, is a European platform for innovative music and art. It is artist-oriented, and, every year, it creates a selection of exceptional emerging talent via open call and curatorial voting, to then foster their careers with performance invitations, collaborative residencies, commissions, seminars and networking events. SHAPE+ consists of 18 non-profit venues and festivals, including Unsound, CTM, Construction and Intonal, and is co-funded by the European Union, and, as of middle of 2024, also Pro Helvetia.

Cane And Able

Cane And Able

Cane And Able has been played on NTS in shows including House Call, featured first on 24 August 2014. Songs played include Girl You Move Me and Girl You Move Me.

Cane And Able were an 8-piece band from France. This funky band crosses multiple genres meshing elements of soul, funk, blues, and psych all into one heavy, rhythmic machine. There isn’t much to be said about these French funkmeisters, because there is not much to be found about them. In some ways this is good, because the music they left behind speaks for them very clearly. The music shifts between psych rock flavours, trippy guitar arrangements, hot brass arrangements and strong funky grooves.

An absolutely killer funk album full of wah-wah and fuzzed guitars, deep soul vocals, hot basselines, wild afro percussion, and a really spaced out production.
