Steve Gordon is an award-winning composer, multi-instrumentalist, DJs, and is co-founder of Sequoia Records, which he has molded into a world-class record label since its inception 25 years ago along with his brother David Gordon. The Gordon Brothers out of the box originality in being the first to compose music for natural environments and to combine ancient world instruments with modern electronica that has made them the acclaimed artists they are today, having grossed over 1.6 million units in sales worldwide. A recent N.A.R. survey listed the Gordon Brothers as being in the top 5 most popular artists as reported by alternative retailers, along with artists such as Enya and Loreena McKennitt, and many of their albums have charted in Billboard. In addition to the 19 albums he as released with his brother David including the COVR Best World album and Record of the Year, “Drum Medicine” the influential “Sacred Earth Drums,” so far he has released one solo album, “Drum Prayer” and one collaboration with Deborah Martin, “Ancient Power.” He has also compiled and produced 16 world and electronica albums with David and they have produced 6 albums and Steve has produced 2. Steve is also the creative force behind the electronica group, Artemisia. Their songs combine trip hop grooves with Spanish and Electric guitar with sensual female vocals from guest vocalists such as Irina Mikalova and Suzanne Sterling. Artemisia songs can be heard on the Buddha Lounge, Hotel Tara and Celtic Lounge series, with the first full length release coming out soon.
