Renée is a 5-piece band from Ghent, Belgium. The band is composed of Renée Sys (lead vocals, guitar), Eva Bruneel (cello, backing vocals), Gunter Deleu (contrabass, backing vocals), Stijn Engels (piano, xylophone, backing vocals) and Pieter Elias (drums, percussion).

The band released their debut album Extending Playground in 2012. Their musis has been described as 'slo-mo-jazz with a touch of indie and a poppy tune here and there'. Centrepiece to the ear is Renée's voice, which is soft and smooth as satin.

Renée's sophomore album, entitled Marching, was released by Zeal Records in early 2014.

Renée is a later incarnation of Dutch rock & roll group, René and The Alligators (a.k.a. René & His Alligators and some similar names). The original band was founded by frontman René Nodelijk in The Hague, Netherlands, in 1959 and enjoyed chart success in their native country in the first half of the 1960s with early Dutch rock & roll classics such as 'Guitar Boogie' and 'In The Mood', both from 1962.

Founding member, René Nodelijk, made a comeback in 1978 with a new band fronted by his wife, Anja Exterkate, whose artist's name was Renée (with an extra e). The new band performed and recorded as Renée and is currently active again as Renée and The Alligators.
