There are, at least, seven artists known as Ampersand: 1) A German noise rock / wertkonservativer herrenrock trio, 2) a San Francisco pop quartet, 3) A pseudonym of Matthew Sandstedt, 4) a German electro house DJ, 5) a pseudonym of Matt Hainsby (Fujiya & Miyagi founder), 6) a pop punk band from New Jersey.
1) A Cologne, Germany trio, which released albums: "Macro" (2001) & "Boredom and Identity" (2004) - before singer / guitarist Bartz was replaced by singer / producer Hannes Jäckl (formerly with "Sans Secours"). The musical style changed from helmet-influenced 'noise rock' to - what 'Intro' (German magazine), calls - 'wertkonservativer herrenrock'. Somewhere between noise & blues rock. The latest release is the "the can can variety show" album (2006, rakete music).
2) A San Francisco pop quartet, whose music recalls, 80s / early-90s, guitar-pop bands.
3) A pseudonym of Matthew Sandstedt (Aneuretical), from Minneapolis, MN.
4) A Cologne, Germany electro house DJ, who released tracks on the Belgian label Lektroluv records and the on the fruit label.
5) A pseudonym of Matt Hainsby, a Brighton, UK singer-songwriter / bassist / keyboard-player & a founding member of Fujiya & Miyagi (providing: vocals, bass & Korg).
