Christian Clozier (born August 25, 1945 in Compiègne, France) founded, with Francoise Barrière, in 1970, le Groupe de Musique Expérimentale de Bourges (GMEB), which would later be known as the Institut International de Musique Electroacoustique de Bourges/IMEB in 1994.
He is the artistic manager of "Synthèse", Festival International des Musiques et Créations Electroniques de Bourges, the artistic manager of the Concours International de Musique et d'Art Sonore Electroacoustiques de Bourges, the Président of the Mnémothèque Internationale des Sciences et Arts en Musique Electroacoustique/MISAME, and he also founded the Académie Internationale de Musique Electroacoustique de Bourges.
He has conceived different devices, musical instruments and instrumentarium for pedagogy (Cybersongosse, 1972), spatialization-interpretation (Cybernéphone , 1973), and composition (IMEB studio Charybde, 1971), and has also written down numerous papers and texts on musical aesthetics and history.
As a composer, his works have been played and broadcasted everywhere in the world. Some are recorded by Chant du Monde and Mnémosyne Musique Média publishers.
