Steinwolke

Steinwolke has been played on NTS shows including Radio Jiro, with White Goats first played on 21 September 2015.

Steinwolke was a German New Wave band that originated in Rottweil. Their first album was released in 1978. The band gained recognition primarily through their involvement in the Neue Deutsche Welle (NDW) music movement.

The band was initially founded by three members of the Haas family: Clemens Maria (born May 6, 1966), Konrad, and Andreas. They were later joined by Dominique Diaz, an Indian adopted son of the Haas family, who was born in Uganda, and Uli Schmid, a friend of the band from Leonberg. In 1983, the band released their first German-language album, which featured the hit single "Katharine, Katharine." This song reached number 21 on the German charts and remained there for a total of 18 weeks. While their subsequent releases did not achieve the same level of commercial success, they still enjoyed a considerable following, with several tracks performing well on radio charts.

Albums 1979: Steinwolke (Independent release) 1980: Lionskweet (Independent release) 1981: Live (Independent release) 1983: Steinwolke (EMI Electrola) 1985: In wilder Zeit (EMI Electrola) 1988: Bitte nicht knicken (Edition Flemu, Castor Music) 1994: In 80 Tagen 2004: Das Beste (Deutsche Austrophon)

Singles 1983: Katharine 1984: Zugvögel 1985: Wenn du willst 1985: Millionenmal 1988: Teufel 1989: Viola 1994: Für mich

Following the release of their album In wilder Zeit in 1985, Clemens and Andreas Haas left the band. Clemens pursued a solo career under the name Cle, while Andreas became involved in other music projects.

Notably, Jens Bernewitz, a producer and bassist, contributed to the band during this period. The subsequent albums, Bitte nicht knicken (1988) and In 80 Tagen (1994), along with several singles, were produced during this time.

In 2004, Konrad Haas released a solo album titled Manchmal war es Himmel under the Deutsche Austrophon label, along with several singles under the name Konrad Haasenstein. These works were produced by Jens Bernewitz at Noah Studios in Hanover.

Konrad Haas also collaborates with renowned actor Bernd Tauber as a duo called Der Hausmeister, who perform satirical German rock. The duo is known for their clever wordplay and sharp commentary on German society. Additionally, Konrad Haas continues to work as a music producer.

Meanwhile, Clemens Haas, now performing as Cle, has embarked on a solo career.

In 1992, bassist Jens Bernewitz and drummer Dominique Diaz, along with singer Michael Westphal, founded the cult band Los Tumpolos. The band has played hundreds of concerts and was the only German band invited to perform at the legendary Reggae Sunsplash festival in Jamaica. Los Tumpolos has released four CDs and several singles to date.
