Balil has been played on NTS over 20 times, featured on 23 episodes and was first played on 26 July 2013.

Balil is the solo project of Ed Handley. Handley was once part of the trio The Black Dog along with Andrew Turner & Ken Downie. Handley & Turner left to pursue their Plaid project, with Downie continuing on with different lineups of The Black Dog.
