The Ugly's

The Ugly's has been played on NTS in shows including Andrew Weatherall Presents: Music's Not For Everyone, featured first on 26 November 2015. Songs played include The Quiet Explosion.

The Ugly's . A British brum beat band who formed in Birmingham 1963 from the ashes of the 50's band The Dominettes . They signed to Pye Records in 1965 and soon release an original song entitled "Wake Up My Mind" they cut and issued a few more singles but after an astounding almost constant line up changes cracks appeared until by the end of 1968, Steve Gibbons was the only remaining original member. This final line-up recorded a projected single I've Seen The Light which was unfortunately never released officially (a demo copy recently sold for £1,200) they finally split in 1969
