Mecca:83 (aka Rise aka 1/4 of the Alexis Davis Project) is a beat technician, remixer and semi professional crate digger from Manchester, UK. His first introduction to Hip-Hop was hearing A Tribe Called Quest’s “We Got The Jazz” on a skate video, aged 11. First starting out creating stop-tape beats on his parent’s hi fi, Mecca soon graduated to the world of hardware samplers in his teenage years and spend the next decade honing his skills on the drum pads.
