Black State Choir has been played on NTS shows including Sacred Pools w/ DJ OCTOBER, FASO + TOSHIKI OHTA , with Akuku first played on 4 April 2016.

Chris Cookson, Kevin Furlong, Phil Frankel, Paul Gallagher and Niall Mercer emerged from Thrash Culture in 1986 to form Black State Choir. They released their first single in 1987 but by 1993 only Kevin (aka Pádi Stáid / aka zeronoise) and Paul (aka P.G. Raheen) remained active as Black State Choir. At this point they collaborated with Duncan Lomax (aka Savage) and released Permaculture.
