Sayaka Kanda (神田 沙也加 Kanda Sayaka) (born October 1, 1986) , was the daughter of J-pop star 松田聖子 and actor Masaki Kanda. Her paternal grandmother is former actress Teruko Asahi. She was born in Setagaya, Tokyo, Japan. Sayaka has also had many roles in various TV dramas, movies, and commercials. In 1999, while a student at the Japanese school in Los Angeles, she appeared in Bean Cake, a short film which won the Palme d'Or du court métrageat the 2001 Cannes Film Festival. In 2005, she released a DVD called Dolls.
She had been quite active as an actress on movies and mostly on stage since her debut. She made her Kōhaku Uta Gassen debut in December 2011 singing "Ue o Muite Arukō" alongside her mother, Seiko Matsuda. In July, 2012 she debuted as a voice actress on TV animation Good Luck Girl!, which led her to be cast as Anna in Japanese version of Frozen. In April, 2014, she formed a duo called TRUSTRICK with a guitarist Billy.
Kanda passed away at the age of 35 on December 18th, 2021. Kanda's remains were cremated and her family kept her ashes at home. A report from Shūkan Bunshun claimed she committed suicide following vocal cord issues as well as issues with her relationship with Maeyama.
