Sid Wilson, the 48-year-old turntable virtuoso aka DJ Starscream, got his love for music and the craft of DJing from his first heartbeats. His vast knowledge and understanding of all types of music runs in his family, he is curious about the technical aspects of his first hobby, and curious about how different parts of different songs and music can be blended together. DJ Starscream listens to and experiments with all varieties of music, from classical to metal.

Punk rock was DJ Starscream's first passion, then he played bass and saxophone in various budding bands, and this passion and behavior can be traced to this day in every project he is involved in. In the studio, DJ Starscream is exacting in every sense of the word. He unceasingly pushes himself and his music to extreme limits. His concerts are captivating not only because of the music, but also because of his own energy and aggressiveness.

DJ Starscream made his debut in 1994 as a member of Sound Proof Coalition, a DJ crew based in Des Moines, Iowa. Playing gigs both locally and throughout the Midwest and U.S., DJ Starscream and S.P.C. have been and continue to be major innovators in the DJ world. This team of 4 celebrated their tenth anniversary of formation in 2004, and are still working on various projects.

Starting in the late 90's, DJ Starscream began to be associated with another group of musicians based in Des Moines. After trying out a few shows and getting some practice, DJ Starscream took on another name, known as #0, in Slipknot, a 9-piece band that would give new meaning to the word “metal” and become one of the most “intricate”, and one of the best live bands in the world. Appearing on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine, as well as other achievements including 3 Grammy nominations, gold and platinum album sales, top sales of merchandise and videos. DJ Starscream and Slipknot continue to update and expand their musical abilities, along with the release of their highly anticipated 3rd album, as well as on tour in the summer of 2004.

DJ Starscream continues to break musical barriers with his newly formed band AMPT. Together with hardcore east coast vocalist DJ Rob Gee and members of Biohazard, AMPT redefine music by their own rules with an innovative blend of metal, hip-hop and electronica. With this musical combination and experience, AMRI will definitely be a force to be reckoned with both now and in the future.

In addition to all these collaborations and more, DJ Starscream continues to record solo projects and perform solo shows all over the world.
