Sam Coomes has been played on NTS in shows including Trevor Jackson , featured first on 23 August 2016. Songs played include Corpse Rider.

Sam Coomes is currently one third of the Portland indie band Quasi, along with drummer and ex-wife Janet Weiss. He also plays in Crock, Pink Mountain, and Blues Goblins.

Coomes was a member of the mid 1980's folk revival band Donner Party, and played bass for Heatmiser, as well as touring with Elliott Smith as part of his back up band. He has worked with bands including Bügsküll, Sleater-Kinney, Built to Spill, The Go-Betweens, Goldcard, and The Takeovers.
