Mahogany Blue

Mahogany Blue has been played on NTS shows including Soul in Paradise w/ Jamma Dee, with Affair (House Mix) first played on 13 January 2017.

Mahogany Blue is an R&B trio that consists of 3 sisters: Yadonna Wise, Lanita Wise and Doreen Wise (born & raised in New Orleans, Louisiana).

In their early years, they began singing in church and at a very young age, the Wise sisters recorded their first single "Fairytale Fantasy." They performed in talent shows in high school, sang & won in a local city-wide radio talent show for radio station WYLD-FM98, auditioned in New York for "Showtime at the Apollo," performed at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, at the Essence Festival and in nightclubs. Mahogany Blue has performed as back-up singers for various New Orleans local artists such as Allen Toussaint.

After the trio auditioned for then-president of MCA Records Ernie Singleton at the Black Radio Exclusive Convention in New Orleans, he signed them to the label. In 1993, Mahogany Blue released their debut album "Love Zone" which didn't appear to chart at all on the Billboard charts. Their only chart appearance to date was the single "Affair" which peaked at #9 on Billboard's Hot Dance Music\Club Play chart.

The trio has traveled in Europe & Asia, performing in nightclubs along with performing as the opening act for artists such as Mother's Finest, Tina Turner, Sting and Toto. They even sang background vocals for Bruce Willis' band, the Excellerators.

These days, Mahogany Blue continues to perform and they travel to Europe & South America each year to perform as one of the top acts of the acts of the Bourbon Street Club in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
