Yaaba Funk has been played on NTS shows including Afrobuddha Presents: Spirits Frequency, with Tekyerema Da Ma Num (My Vote Dey Count) first played on 12 April 2014.

Yaaba Funk are a band playing funky Hi-Life and Afrobeat. influenced by Alhaji K Frimpong, Fela Kuti, Oscar Sulley, Ghanaian and Nigerian sounds from the 70s as well as funk, broken beat and jazz. Based in Brixton in south London, they play regularly on the London circuit and are know for electrifying shows featuring tight and powerful Afro rhythm section. Their debut LP Afrobeast was released in may 2010.
