„BIONULOR, OR LIFE AFTER LIFE OF DISCOVERED SOUNDS”….
.. ……
Bionulor is a single-person musical project exploring the sound recycling space. It was started in Autumn, 2006…..
.. ……
Each track is based on only one sample (one fragment of a source sound material) and its processing, no other “extra-source” sounds or instruments are used (“100% sound recycling”)…..
.. ……
This strict creation rigor ceases to be alimitation, turning into inspiration and creation method and computer-like sterility inevitably goes towards technological lo-fi, where all noises and unexpected flaws are welcome…..
.. ……
The source material consists of musical waste, sounds discovered on old tapes, vinyls and archive recordings that have little in common with “music”… The exact reason why the “100% sound recycling” method has been selected for the project, was the output of a Japanese sound artist called Aube. Associations derived from the alchemical tradition also are justified…..
.. ……
So far (Winter 2008/2009), Bionulor has completed two phonographic works: “bionulor” is a debut album created on thebasis of classical instruments samples, in which minimalistic, ascetic soundlandscapes, resembling William Basinski’s works are interleaved with grotesque, abstract mosaics resembling Nocturnal Emissions or Nurse With Wound. The other album (“scrd.mshrm.chnt.”) are, noisier and more experimental structures, meant to be 3” CD-EP, created on the basis of samples taken from an archive recording of a witch doctor’s song connected with the ceremony of taking hallucinogenic mushrooms…..
.. ……
The first album was published by ETA label today – 19.01.2009.
Works from the album are an attempt to rediscover classical music, especially that from the period of Middle Ages and Renaissance.
