Loose Ends, the London trio formed of guitarist and vocalist Carl McIntosh, vocalist Jane Eugene and keyboardist Steve Nichol, moulded their sound in the era of playful genre melding that directly followed disco's populist decline. Their uniquely eighties fusion of R&B, post-disco rhythm, & sensuous vocal performances were instrumental in defining what is now considered UK street soul. Instrumental too, was the glossy production aesthetic of Nick Martinelli, who worked closely with the group on five albums. This In Focus is a trip through the silken post-disco & pop of Loose Ends. This show is currently unavailable in the USA.

Limited cassette on The Skaters own New Age imprint presents their first ever non-Skaters related release, a full cassette album from Miles Devens a.k.a. Belgian folk-blues loner Ignatz (real name — Bram Devens) with a bucket full of his more off-the-map creations, all compiled and edited by Spencer Clarke of The Skaters/Vodka Soap. Visions of Jandek, Incredible String Band, Comus, Nico, Witthuser and Westrupp, Henry Flynt and John Cale all flit through your brain as this great tape unfolds in drawls of ancient sounding organ, ritual percussion, slow bowed strings and that great narcotic Kosmiche feel that defines everything the Skaters get their hands on.
