Razor X Productions

Razor X Productions

Razor X Productions has been played on NTS in shows including BFDM, featured first on 24 November 2017. Songs played include Boom Boom Claat, Killer and W Version.

Razor X Productions is the collaboration of producers Kevin Martin (The Bug), The Rootsman and a rotating cast of ragga and dancehall deejays (Cutty Ranks, Daddy Freddy, The Mexican, and Warrior Queen).

The style is a dark propulsive mechanical ragga that shares many characteristics with Martin's solo work and other side projects (Techno Animal, Ice).

Most of this music grew out of Martin and the Rootsman collaborating on Razor X, a 7" label dedicated to original versions (under the guise of The Bug vs. The Rootsman) as well as remixes of work by other dub/dancehall/breakcore producers (distribution by Cargo U.K. in the UK and Tigerbeat6 in the US). The two collaborated again on 2003's Killer, a song that appeared again on the debut of Razor X Productions. Imitator first appeared in 2003 on a split EP with DJ/Rupture.
