Amakudari

Amakudari has been played on NTS shows including Sounds Of The Dawn, with Caves first played on 9 December 2017.

Amakudari (japanese term that means "descent from heaven") is an instrumental ambient music band from Winnipeg, Canada. The group is the brainchild of Greg Gardner (percussion, guitar), with Jay Taylor (bass, cello, guitar, percussion), Huw Davies (sitar, guitar, percussion) and Greg Barratt (keyboards, percussion) completing the lineup. Amakudari incorporates elements of world music, jazz, folk and twang in their work, creating textured and delicate musical landscapes.

They released an eponymous album in 1987, with less than 100 copies sold. After a long hiatus, they resurfaced in 2008 with their sophomore album, Hypnostique.
