Mary-Anne Paterson

Mary-Anne Paterson has been played on NTS shows including Jonny Trunk Plays God, with Love Has Gone first played on 29 January 2018.

Mary-Anne Paterson was born and raised in the Festival city of Edinburgh, Scotland. She studied drama at college and eventually became a drama teacher, occasionally writing songs for educational television. While struggling to set up an arts centre for children, Mary-Anne recorded an LP entitled "Me" in 1970 to help fund the costs. She never saw one penny from the album and it eventually faded off into obscurity, with her moving on to using art therapy to help hospital patients. In 2006 her one and only album was reissued on CD, "a glorious combination of traditional and original material, with an echo-laden production that perfectly compliments her haunting voice."
