Innocent Ujah Idibia, formerly known as 2face Idibia before changing his stage name to 2Baba, is a recording artist from Benue State, Nigeria. He was a member of the defunct R&B/hip hop group Plantashun Boiz.
One of the most internationally recognized celebrities Nigeria has produced in years, his massively popular song African Queen was the first ever video to be played on pan African channel MTV Base. 2face was the recipient of such awards as the 2005 Channel O Best Male Music Video award and the first award given for Best African at the MTV Europe Awards held in Lisbon, Portugal in November 2005.
2face released his debut solo album, Face 2 Face in 2004, which was positively reviewed by music critics and was listed as "the greatest Nigerian debut album of the 21st Century by a solo artist". It was followed by his second album, Grass 2 Grace (2006). After that, he left Kennis Music and established his own record label, Hypertek Digital.
In 2009, 2face released an experimental album, The Unstoppable, with an international edition in 2010. The Unstoppable International edition won two awards at the 2010 SoundCity Music Video Awards. His fifth solo album, Away and Beyond (2012), was nominated for Best R&B/Pop Album at The Headies 2013.
2face’s sixth studio album, The Ascension (2014) was shortly followed by his seventh, Rewind. Select. Update in 2015. He released his most recent album, Warriors, on 28 February 2020, which features guest appearances from Tiwa Savage, Burna Boy, Wizkid, Peruzzi, Olamide, Syemca and AJ Natives.
2face has received several awards throughout his career, including the MTV Europe Music Award and World Music Award, five The Headies Award for Song of the Year, four Channel O Music Video Awards, and a BET Award. Additionally, he has been honoured at the MTV Africa Music Awards, the Music of Black Origin Awards, the Kora Awards, and the 2019 'AFRIMA Legend Award'. He was inducted into "The Headies Hall of Fame" in 2015 and the 'Music Legends Hall of Fame' in Ghana in 2022.
