There are three bands called The Insex or InSex.
From Newbury in Southern England. initially a punk outfit called The Insane Insex, later became InSex and played Post Punk music heavily influenced by Joy Division. Released one 7" single then split when the mainstay Franco W left for New York. Remaining members stayed together as Zilch, led by bassist Darryl Still, Franco's sister Suzi W on guitar and new singer Martina "Iggy" Figuerini. Keyboard pair Ricky Hayden and Babs Vernon married and quit the band and drummer Chris Robbins tragically died whilst on holiday in New Zealand, leaving the band as a trio. Still took over the drum stool for a while as Figuerini learned bass, and the band gigged for around another year before splitting for good. Still's next appearances were some 10 years later as the main man of the music division of computer manufacturer Atari, working in studios and on tours with the likes of Norman Cook's Beats International, Julia Fordham, Captain Sensible, Chesney Hawks and Brian May of Queen.
Most likely from Newcastle in North East England who played gothic rock music in 1980's. Little is known of this band, though it is thought they recorded at this time. Their first mentions coincide closely with the first bands final demise, but it is thought they are a completely different outfit.
The third appears to an offshoot band from Mike Rusconi of the Rubinoos.
