Attias

Attias

Attias has been played on NTS shows including Magicwire w/ Gabriola, with Analysis (Version) first played on 14 June 2018.

ATTIAS is the project of brothers Alex Attias and Stephane Attias. Based in Lausanne Switzerland (also home to Planet E signings Lazy Fat People), the duo have been DJing all over the world and making records and remixes for many years on a diverse list of labels ranging from Compost to Talkin' Loud and their own Visions and Freedom Soundz imprints. Their sounds individually have incorporated everything from jazz to house and film soundtracks. Earlier this year the duo started a new project that has come about following Alex's return to Lausanne from London and his reunion with his brother Stephane. The brothers have always been close but with their Spring 2007 debut 12" "Nebukai" for Chicago's Still Music label and their recently released follow up "Hiro/Domino" for Italian label Reincarnation (an offshoot of Neroli) they have showed that their deep love and understanding of electronic music runs deep. Their local music scene is one of the most vibrant in Europe for electronic music and the duo are close with artists like Mirko, Ripperton, Quennum (on whose label Alex released the EP "Rose" earlier this year) and many others in the Geneva / Lausanne axis – no surprise then that you can say the duo have much in common with the Swiss minimalism of LFP, Quennum, Luciano and others. But it is their love and understanding of Detroit techno that has brought them to the attention of Carl Craig and a home on Planet E. And it is that love that is reflected here in the appropriately titled "Analysis" single. The title reflects both the duos approach to techno here but also their own personal searches in life. Like much of the best in electronic music there is a progressive searching pulse in the music. Here is a new 2007 look at what techno can be. Fresh and alluring it is sure to bring the brothers a new wave of attention and respect.
