While commercially obscure, Tony Borders recorded a string of great soul tracks of comparable quality to contemporaries like Otis Redding, and Percy Sledge. His earliest known recording is a 1961 single for the Delta label. He also recorded a handful of early 60's singles for Smash and the Hall label associated with producer Rick Hall.
