1.) 1989 are a hard rock/heavy metal band from Brisbane, Australia. They bring back the hard rock of the seventies and eighties that is sadly missed and strongly sought after by rock fans today. "Time-travelers 1989 step out of their decade of choice, the Brisbane five-piece filling the stage with some epic power stances and synchronized hair-whipping, each member getting the chance to show case their moves from the outset. Democracy established, the short set is highlighted by the soon-to-be released single Don't Care, the heavy riffs and high notes creating a classic vibe….." Rave Magazine, February 2008
Since finalizing the 5 member line-up in March 2007, 1989 have written and released a six track demo EP recorded in a shed turned "rumpus room". The EP has been very well received and was officially launched at the Redcliffe Youth Space in September 2007, where they performed a live show that stamped them as a quality band with a fantastic live sound. Since the EP launch, they have had regular work at numerous venues in Brisbane where they have received incredible reviews from both audience and venue owners. The boys have also recently supported The Screaming Jets and U.K rockers Budgie.
2.) 1989 is also the solo project of Joey from California, USA. He fuses together acoustic beauty with unique vocals, and the occasional electro beat.
