Dominique Bertram took up bass in 1968 in Paris, influenced by Otis Redding and Rythm'n'Blues. He is a great fan of jazz-rock and played with Zao, Neffesh, Alien Quartet before meeting Christian Vander and joining Magma (Concert at Bobino in 1981).
In the 80s, he played with Renaud, Michel Jonasz, Véronique Sanson, Catherine Lara and Nicole Croisille, with whom he appeared on her tribute show to Claude Nougaro. In the 90s, he played with Eddy Mitchell, and joined Patrick Bruel on his two major tours. He also played with I Muvrini, Laurent Voulzy on the “Gothique Flamboyant Pop Dancing Tour“ and Liane Foly (Concert at the Palais des Sports and Une étoile dort ).
He played the bass on the first tour of the Enfoirés and appeared on several Taratata shows, playing with Al Jarreau and the late Michel Petrucciani. A prolific jazz musician, he is often seen with Mino Cinelu, Khalil Chahine, Thierry Eliez and Frank Monbaylet.
He has released two solo albums : “Chinese Paradise“ in 1985 ( with Manu Katché, Jean-Yves d'Angelo, Kamil Rustam…) and "Bass Now" in 1992 ( with Loïc Ponthieux, Michel Gaucher, Thierry Elliez…).
He toured with Patrick Bruel (including the US tour) and in 2008 he toured with Véronique Sanson and Nicolle Croisille.
