ABC are an English pop band formed in Sheffield, South Yorkshire in 1980, emerging from the earlier electronic band Vice Versa. The band incorporates elements of synth-pop, orchestral, and jazz music, and has been associated with the new pop and sophisti-pop movements. Their debut studio album, "The Lexicon of Love" (1982), reached number one on the UK Albums Chart and included the singles "Poison Arrow", "All of My Heart", and "The Look of Love".

Fronted by Martin Fry, who has remained the band's only constant member, the classic lineup also included Mark White on guitar and keyboards, Stephen Singleton on saxophone, and David Palmer on drums. Between 1981 and 1990, ABC had ten UK top 40 singles and five US top 40 singles. Their early-1980s success in the United States led to their association with the Second British Invasion. The band released additional albums during the 1980s, including "Beauty Stab" (1983) and "How to Be a … Zillionaire!" (1985), the latter of which produced singles that charted in both the UK and the US.

Although their commercial popularity decreased after the 1980s, ABC have continued to perform live, release reissues, and occasionally produce new material. In 2016, Martin Fry released "The Lexicon of Love II", a sequel to their debut album, which received positive responses from critics and audiences.
