Planet P Project was a science-fiction themed progressive rock band with one permanent member: Tony Carey; he used the name for his music that didn't fit the style of his other work. The first two albums, Planet P Project and Pink World, were released in 1983 and 1984 respectively, and saw a fair amount of MTV video airplay. Planet Project's most well known singles were Why Me, a sweeping, energetic romp about outer space and isolation, and the downbeat Static on the Radio. Carey revived the Planet P Project name in 2003 and released Go Out Dancing Part I - 1931 . The second album in the series, Go Out Dancing, Part II - Levittown was released in 2008. The final album, Go Out Dancing, Part III - Out In The Rain, was released 15 December 2009. This is also the fifth and final album Tony Carey will release under the Planet P Project name.
