Coro Qom Chelaalapi was created in 1962 in the Toba neighborhood on the outskirts of the city of Resistencia, Chaco, and became the first indigenous choir founded in Latin America. Its name means "Flock of Thrushes".
It has been declared a cultural heritage and symbol of the Chaco culture, by decree of the Chaco Executive Branch No. 1,491/2022 and "Living Cultural Heritage of the Province of Chaco", proposed by UNESCO, in 2006.
