The Shades has been played on NTS in shows including The Numero Group, featured first on 25 June 2020. Songs played include Tell Me Not To Hurt.

There are a number of bands under the name The Shades.

One is a band called The Shades formed in 1996 in Cork city, Ireland. Members included Ray Scannell and Graham White (founder members of earlier incarnation Smooth). They were strongly influenced by the likes of Portishead and Massive Attack. Their debut album Explosive was released on Grade Records in 2004.
