The band gained mainstream success with the 2000 single "Butterfly", which reached number one on the US Billboard Hot 100 and significantly boosted sales of their debut album "The Gift of Game", released in 1999. The album sold over 1.6 million copies.

Their second studio album, "Darkhorse", was released in 2002 but did not replicate the commercial success of their debut, leading to the band's breakup in 2003.

Crazy Town was reformed in 2007 by Mazur and Binzer. In 2015, they released their third album "The Brimstone Sluggers". Mazur left the band in 2017, after which Binzer continued under the new name Crazy Town X. In March 2024, the band released the EP "Flirting with Disaster". Binzer passed away in June 2024, casting uncertainty over the band's future.
