In the spring of 2004 Guus and Thomas began to make music together. Guus played guitar en Thomas was just learning to play drums. Isabel was singing, but only showed up once or twice, because she was too busy with her girlfriend. After a month Guus en Thomas came in touch with a youthcentrum, called De Flinty's. They could use a room there to practice. At the same time there was another band starting to practise in De Flinty's and sometimes guitarist/vocalist Menzo of this played together with Guus en Thomas, 'cause Isabel wasn't there anyway. That was also the reaon Menzo was asked to play permanent in the band with Guus changing from guitar to bass. Another reason was, that De Flinty's was doing a Benefitconcert for Mutare and they just wanted to play a song on the concert. They played Bah Bah Bloemenbuurt from 'Ab van der laak and the Dixo Wankers' that night. After this night they decided to make their own songs.
The name of the band arised from the question from Menzo, if the band had a name. The reply was: "Niks". This means nothing in english. The meaning of the reply was, that there was no name, but Menzo thought this was realy the name of the band and replied he liked the name, thus…
