Stew Lane (Stewart MacFarlane) and The Untouchables were a new wave/ no wave outfit from the late 1970s/ early 1980s. The group released one full length l.p., Harder Than Wax. Several singles were released for their tunes, Super Karma (1981) and Play This Song/ Perpetrator (Private Ear Records). During their short time as a group, they played legendary New York venues - Max's Kansas City, Hurrah!, The Mudd Club, and C.B.G.B.s. The group soon disbanded. MacFarlane then returned to his native Australia to pursue life as a painter/ artist.
