David Chesworth is an Australian-based interdisciplinary artist, composer and musician. Known for his experimental and at times minimalist music. He has worked solo, in post-punk/experimental pop groups (Essendon Airport & Whadya Want?) and with the David Chesworth Ensemble. He is also known for his synthesizer and experimental musical performances, as well as installation and video artworks created with collaborator Sonia Leber

Chesworth's parents moved the family from Britain to Melbourne, Australia in the late 1960s. Chesworth studied at Latrobe University, including time with composer Warren Burt. In the late 1970s and early 1980s he coordinated the Clifton Hill Community Music Centre in Melbourne, a centre for experimental music, performance, film and video. Through Innocent Records, a label he co-founded with Philip Brophy, he released solo records including 50 Synthesizer Greats, Layer on Layer, as well as Sonic Investigations of the Trivial and Palimpsest with Essendon Airport. These and other ealy records have been reissued on CD and vinyl.
