MC GI has been played on NTS in shows including Miss Modular, featured first on 19 June 2020. Songs played include Empina A Pipa (Samim's Crashroots Remix).

One of the few female MCs from Santos, at São Paulo's lower seaside, Giovanna Avino - aka MC Gi, 20, - has been writing writing social issues-themed lyrics from an early age. But by the end of 2006 she jumped headfirst into funny baile funk territory and hasn't stopped ever since! Her style verges into satire and double entendre, as can be heard in her singles "Halls Preto" and "Só Não Cozinho" that have been played at local clubs.
