Khallee was born and raised on the south side of Chicago in the mid 1980s. Equipped with the “what does not kill you will only make you stronger” mentality instilled by his father, and the “go – getter” attitude instilled by his mother, Khallee is well prepared to make his mark on the entertainment industry as a rap artist. Khallee’s initial dive into the hip-hop culture started when he was culturally introduced to new ways of having fun.
His exposure to different cultures also broadened his horizons musically. With that same exposure, the seed was planted for Khallee’s growing interest in becoming a rap artist himself. However, Khallee would not discover the ability he had to be a wordsmith until the 8th grade, but he would not publicize his talents until sophomore year of high school. After graduating from high school Khallee attended Tuskegee University where his talent would be tested the most up to that point. Black Entertainment Television (BET) came to his school for their “Black College Tour” and he jumped at the chance to enter their freestyle battle. Winning this battle on such a large stage, proved to be pivotal in Khallee deciding to pursue music full - time. Although making the decision to pursue music full – time was tough, Khallee returned to Chicago where he would link up with an inspiring producer & engineer named LIVE. After recording a few songs with LIVE, Khallee relocated to San Diego, CA to further gain perspective on himself as a recording artist and entertainer. Once gained, that newfound perspective led him back to Chicago to build upon his musical relationship with LIVE. After recording a few more songs together, they both realized that they were on to something promising.“Khallee’s sound is not hip – hop, rap, or alternative, it is simply “Refreshing”. Upon hearing his voice and sound, that much will be obvious. In the words of Khallee himself: “I learn from and appreciate EVERY artist and they do not have to be my favorite rapper or artist. I want to be a part of the wave of artists that help to expand the meaning of “what’s hip - hop!” “I want to be great; I want to be at the top or somewhere near it”! Make room world, Khallee is on the way!
