The Chapman Family

The Chapman Family

The Chapman Family has been played on NTS in shows including NTS Guide to…, featured first on 30 July 2020. Songs played include He's My Rock, My Sword, My Shield.

The Chapman Family were a rock band which formed in 2006 in Stockton-on-Tees, Teesside, United Kingdom.

They released their debut album in 2011. They consisted of Kingsley, Pop, Owen, Kevin and Scott.

Their unique blend of politically charged, feedback infused, loud and intense indie rock music has won them just as many friends as enemies over the last few years and after being initially hyped and championed for their chaotic and sometimes disturbing stage shows in 2009 by the likes of the NME and Radio 1, to being forgotten about and presumed deceased in 2010 whilst hard at work recording their album, and to being remembered again last year on the back of the aforesaid debut album "Burn Your Town." …and then forgotten again after thousands of copies of it were destroyed in a warehouse fire during the 2011 riots.

Their influences were the truth, politicians, royalty, war, cruelty, injustice, poverty, famine and humanity.

The band formally split in 2013 after 7 years together.
