Ibon Errazkin

Ibon Errazkin was first played on NTS on 31 August 2020. Songs played include Oscuridad Completa .

Ibon Errazkin is one of the most creative, influential and respected names in the Spanish independent music scene. He is a gifted guitarist, songwriter, composer and arranger, although he is mainly known for his work fronting one of the best Spanish acts of the nineties, the San Sebastian based five-piece Le Mans. Unfortunately the band split up in 1998, just as their music was beginning to be heard by more and more people around the world.

Despite Le Mans being Ibon's main project during the last decade, he also participated in many side projects: between 1990 and 1996 he fronted Daily Planet, an instrumental outfit influenced by bands such as Felt and Orange Juice. Daily Planet released two albums (1995's "Calypso" and 1996's "Romance"). Ibon is also half of the duo INSTRÜMENTAL, a project more oriented towards experimental music. Ibon has also recorded a song ("Expo Tenerife") for Mike Alway’s prestigious "Songs for the Jetset" compilation, under the moniker Southamerican Getaway.

He has released two albums under his own name so far: "Ibon Errazkin" (2000) and "Escuela de Arte" (2003).
