Yasuaki Shimizu

Japanese composer, saxophonist and producer Yasuaki Shimizu will be taking over the NTS airwaves on Tuesday 10th July. Tune in from mid-day until 1pm, UK time.

Rising to prominence through his early eighties work with experimental group Mariah, Shimizu has continued with a prolific solo career spanning collaborations with artists as diverse as Nam June Paik and Ryuichi Sakamoto; Björk and Helen Merrill.

Shimizu's classic '82 album (with its instantly recognisable cover) Kakashi was reissued late last year by WRWTFWW and Palto Flats to great acclaim.
