Two hours of uncanny pop and eerie synth minimalism from Sheffield pioneers The Human League.
Formed in Sheffield in 1977, The Human League started as an experimental, post-industrial synth trio. After key members left in 1980, Philip Oakey rebuilt the band with two teenage vocalists, shifting towards the more charismatic (and commercially viable) new wave sound that thrust them into the mainstream. Their 1981 album Dare and the hit “Don’t You Want Me” went on to define early ’80s electronic pop.
