h8000 hardcore w/ Monokultuur
This set expands on some of my core memories as a visitor in Belgium’s h8000 scene. It’s made up exclusively of Belgian music, and tries to recreate the intensity of experiencing these live shows while also celebrating some of the diversity in both sound and lineup. As a mixtape, this set of songs stands on its own. As a coming of age story, it is mirrored by a fascination for the opposing realm of early rave & Belgian trance, so I decided to keep them separate. These worlds do not fit together well in a mix, but never quite fitting in with either and always being drawn to the other side was vital to my coming of age.
