Champeta w/ Edna Martinez - Tierra Bomba Island
DJ and curator Edna Martínez, from Cartagena de Indias, presents champeta, a genre born inside the picós, the sound systems of Colombia’s Caribbean coast where music is presence, tension, gathering. It carries fragmented routes shaped by circulation and bootlegs. It becomes body, dance, code, a way of occupying a space that has never been neutral.
From the host: "For this Tierra Bomba Special, I bring together the champeta of Michel, Lilibeth and Edwin El Maestro. Three voices from the island, with songs from the mid-2000s to 2010. Stories of love, heartbreak, celebration and everyday life."
