This episode is focused on YoshimiO's project SAICOBAB (hyper-kinetic modern ragas, exploring shared musical and spiritual traditions of japan and india), including music from the band (and some rare bits, like live recordings), influences on the band etc. Their new album NRTYA is out now
Through continual splits, reformations, and shedding key band members, the brain child of Roxy Music was always Bryan Ferry. Imbuing the project with an art-school sensibility, Ferry's lyrics were arch, world weary and romantic, and the music was glamorous and lush at a time when UK rock music was often bloated and terribly unhip.
