In Focus: Éliane Radigue

Now in her tenth decade, French composer and musical pioneer Éliane Radigue has spent most of the last fifty years in Montparnasse, Paris, summoning a steady stream of ethereal, vibrating minimalist compositions. Early in her career, she experimented with tape musique concrète-style tape feedback recordings, also taking inspiration from Tibetan Buddhist philosophy. She worked with various styles of early synthesizers, before settling on the ARP 2500 - her particular machine, named "Jules", has defined her sound for the last thirty years.
