COMING SOON

For this month’s show we're looking ahead to a major LCO performance taking place in a couple of weeks, on October 31st at the Barbican, titled 'Other Worlds'.

The event will showcase two modern masterpieces: John Luther Adams’ 'Become Ocean' which imagines the planet succumbing to the rising sea; and Giacinto Scelsi’s devastating work for large choir and orchestra, 'Uaxuctum: The Legend Of The Mayan City Which They Themselves Destroyed For Religious Reasons'. Both pieces will be performed within a vast multimedia installation from Universal Assembly Unit, which will create live imagery in reaction to the music using cutting-edge A.I. technology.

We've devoted this NTS show exclusively to the music of John Luther Adams and feature four pieces: 'The Wind in High Places', '…and bells remembered…', 'Canticles of the Sky' (performed here by Oliver Coates) and lastly, 'The Place We Began'.
